Visit with Mom and Dad
First stop... meeting with Susan Press, new General Manager at NewSeasons. Discussed dissapointment with attention Mom had been getting at NS. Press said all the right things -- let's see if anything improves once Mom returns. Checked out new standard room (#321).
Second stop... visit with Mom at LVH Transisional Care Unit
Mom did not look good. Had been vomiting. No food so far today. She was obviously hallucinating: told me I looked like a 'cupie doll'; pointed out Vicki Lynne's 'gall bladder'. She had evidence of thrush on her tongue and needed her teeth brushed badly. VL helped her brush. Sad to see. We were not impressed with this TCU.
Third stop... visit with Dad at Phoebe Home
Dad looked very out of it. Could barely get out a word, other than 'How did you find me?' and 'Where am I?'. He's looks even thinner. Don't see how he can go on much longer. Nurse said he ate most of his dinner night before, though.

Just Called Dad
The nurse made sure he had the phone. It is so sad. He asked me 3 or 4 times what time and day it was. It was so hard to understand him. I told him I loved him and I could tell he had emotion in his voice. The only thing I could make out was that I think he said "say goodbye forever".
Lin's breast is swollen, sore and red. Called on-call doc who said if she doesn't have a fever over 101 then do not worry! We're worried.

Mom transferred to LVH Transistional Skilled Unit (17th & Chew)
Talked to Tina. Tina saw Mom at LVH on Monday, was off Tuesday, and didn't know that LVH had decided to transfer Mom to TSU. She said it was a good thing if they could give her some therapy and help her get stronger. Doesn't know how long she'll be there.
Mom's case worker at the TSU is Sara Crocket-tone 610-402-3311. I just called her but she has 7 new admissions and hasn't seen her yet. Suggested I call the Therapy Dept tomorrow at 610-402-2828.

Spoke with Tina at NewSeasons
I confirmed that we wanted Mom moved to a standard room. Said I would take back big TV this Saturday. They will move the chair and two beds and will try to do this before Mom returns from the Hospital.
Tina said she had planned to go to the Hospital today to speak with Donna at LVH about Mom's condition. Told Tina that Donna said (via VL) that Mom's X-ray was consistant with her age and that her back pain appeared to be due to constipation.
I told Tina that we are not happy with the level of attention Mom was getting at NS. Mentioned that Mom was not dressed and had not had lunch on several occasions. She agrees that Mom must have assistance with bathing and that staff need to encourage her to come down to meals. She will write up a memo about this and speak with Resident's Services.

Talked to Dad
Talked to the nurse at Phoebe. She went to his room so she could help him with the phone. Had brief talk with Dad. He was still very hard to hear. When asked, he said he remembered Rick's visit last Saturday. Dad said "there was a problem with the nurses". He couldn't talk since there was a nurse in his room. Looks like he is still paranoid.
I told him that Mom was taken to the Hospital but is doing well. He was anxious for my next visit. I said I would see him on Saturday.
