Visited Mom at LVH Transitional Care Unit

We told Mom. She didn't cry. Said she was surprised that he died before her. A few minutes later she asked me how I was. Asked me why I looked sad. She had forgotten about Dad for the moment.

Vicki and I went to Stephens Funeral Home in Allentown to make Dad's final arrangements.

He will be creamated some time this weekend. We ordered 10 death certificates. We saw him one more time -- touched his cold hand and cried. He looked very peaceful.

Where will Mom go next?

Talked to Louise Malloy at Phoebe Admissions office. She faxed me admission application and info on their assisted living facility.

Looks like Mom will probably go back to LVH Transistional Care Unit for rehab therapy. Vicki will talk to LVM case worker today.

Trip to Allentown

Saw Dad for about 15 minutes. He was in bed. Very out of touch. A slight nod once and a lifted hand with I told him I was going. First time I cried in front of him.

Saw Mom at LVH. She was sitting up but in her open hospital gown. Her hair was brushed. Had a bit of cake for dessert. Her main lunch was a liquid similar to Ensure. She was glad to see me and had some interesting comments: "What did you do for Thanksgiving?" and "Nobody wants old people." She asked for Lin, Sara and Dad. Asked how Vicki was doing with the Buick. She expressed concern again about what we received in place of the car. Stayed for about 45 minutes.
