Just Talked to Mom

Talked to the Nurse, Kathy, who said Mom was in a wheel chair and did participate in therapy today. The increased Duragesic has made her more confused. They hope it will level out soon.

When I spoke with Mom, her speach was slurred. It was hard to talk to her -- she heard me but was often silent after I asked a question. Told Mom we would see her on Wednesday, Xmas Eve.

Phoebe plans to lift the flu quaranteen on Monday.

"Care & Share" Conference Call with Phoebe Staff

Vicki and I participated in a conference call today at 8:45. We heard from the Unit manager who discussed Mom's long list of medications.

The doc increased her pain patch to 50 mcg and added Darvocet for break-through pain.

We were surprised to find Mom is having a bed sore treated.

We also heard from Carol (OT), Jane (Dietician), and Janet (PT). Mom was walking using her walker last week, but has been quite weak lately. IV fluids have helped her but her appetite is still poor.

We gave our permission to have her started on an antidepressant if the Doc gives an ok and to have her seen by a psychologist.

A woman from Psychological Associates of Bethlehem called to get my verbal OK to have a shrink see her. They will look into her insurance coverage.

Financial Update

Linda Noonan returned my call -- she called the court house and expects we will receive the court order any day now.

Mark Schaaf of Wachovia called to say he is mailing a bunch of forms to me so VL and I can be installed as trustees for the ARM Trust. I will fill out the forms and send them back to Wachovia with a death certificate and the court order.
